Michael Liebreich | “These are only 4,000km distances. They’re perfectly feasible.”
In the world of energy, distances as far as 4,000km are no longer too far – they’re the answer to longevity and security.
Xlinks investor Michael Liebreich spoke on this topic on his Cleaning Up podcast, joined by Nikos Tsafos, Deputy Minister of Energy for the Hellenic Republic.
When talking about Xlinks’ Morocco – UK Power Project and similar ventures, he said: “These are only 4,000km distances. They’re perfectly feasible with HVDC.
As Michael says, trading energy across borders is both exciting and crucial to achieving reliable clean power. By turning to uncorrelated resources, nations will firm up their supply and plug the gaps that domestic generation is unable to fill.
We too hope to see many more long-distance links across the world as the global grid becomes a reality.
